My first day at work with a Welcome Day Rally – an experience report

I got to experience the Welcome Day Rally for myself on my first day – and here I'll tell you what it feels like to be right in the middle of the action as a participant.

The start of my Welcome Day

As we gather in small groups, the tension immediately dissipates. Each team is given a tablet, and instead of a traditional presentation, our onboarding begins with an interactive digital scavenger hunt. The app shows us a map of the company premises and guides us to the first stations. After just a few minutes, I realize that this onboarding is lively, playful, and surprisingly innovative. I particularly like the fact that Welcome Day is not just an event, but a well-designed onboarding tool that imparts knowledge, provides orientation, and helps participants make their first contacts.

Interactive tasks – learning more about the company through play

At each station, we are confronted with different formats:

Quizzes on the company's history
Puzzles about products and services
Short video messages from executives
Information about important processes and contact persons
I am impressed by how well the content is tailored to the company. It's not just about conveying information – it's about actively experiencing the corporate culture. For me, it feels like I'm not just getting to know the company, but discovering it piece by piece.

The competitive spirit creates a great atmosphere: we collect points, compare ourselves with other groups in real time, and work together to figure out how to solve the next task. This naturally leads to conversations with employees from other departments. Without pressure or formal introductions, networking happens on its own. I notice that after just one hour, I already feel like part of the team, even though I didn't know anyone that morning.

Movement & variety: Onboarding that's really fun

What makes the Welcome Day Rally so unique is the combination of:

Movement in the real building
Digital tasks on the tablet
Playful competition
Personal insights into the corporate culture
Instead of sitting quietly in a room, I actively explore my new working environment. I see where the teams are located, which areas are particularly important, and how the processes work. This helps me remember the content better because I associate it with my own experiences.

My conclusion: A Welcome Day that sticks in your mind

My first day at work was anything but standard. The Welcome Day Rally made me feel welcome and integrated right away.
